A Historical Sketch
The contributions made by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous Catholic Congregation of India, in the educational field of Kerala were pioneering and revolutionary. St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of the CMI Congregation, founded the first Catholic School of Kerala at Mannanam in1846. All the other CMI Monasteries also followed that movement. In the year 1864, St. Chavara, in his capacity as the Vicar General of the Syro-Malabar Church, ordered all the parishes to start schools adjacent to them. This historic order triggered the emergence of a galaxy of educational institutions all over the State. It also became the basis of the socio-economic development of the whole State.

There are four laboratories in the school for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer. Laboratories help the students in experimental and observational learning.
We have a comparatively good school library with more than 20000 volumes of books and more than 15 standard periodicals, The Reference Section has a variety of standard encyclopaedias, dictionaries and standard reference books on almost all topics at the school level.

The school has taken a leased line internet connection for 24 hour service for the students and their parents. Christ Nagar Internet Club provides convenience to the students to browse the internet from 9.00 am to 9.00 p.m. All the students are members of the Internet Club.

The school provides transportation facilities to students. The parents who wants to send their children to school by school bus should apply for it to the Principal at the beginning of the academic year.
